In a world where most dogs are proud just for fetching a stick, one four-legged legend in Australia decided to go full superhero. Meet Max, the blue heeler with nerves of steel and a nose fine-tuned for koala sniffing. During the devastating bushfires, while humans scrambled with hoses and helicopters, Max was out there rescuing more than 100 eucalyptus-loving fuzzballs. Yes, this good boy has personally saved more marsupials than most zoos even house.

His reward? Not just belly rubs, but an actual shiny trophy bigger than his food bowl. At the award ceremony, Max reportedly tried to chew the base (understandable, it’s basically a giant bone made of metal). Crowds cheered, koalas blinked slowly in approval, and Max wagged his tail like he’d just been told dinner was coming early.

In a world full of problems, it’s comforting to know that sometimes the hero we need isn’t wearing a cape, it’s wearing a collar.
